Understanding Furniture Quotations and Lead Times

THE TARTEEBHOME GUIDES

A useful quotation explains exactly what will be supplied, by whom, for which destination and on what assumptions. Start with the scope before comparing the total.

Give each proposal a clear identity

Keep the seller’s name, quotation reference, revision date and validity period together. State the intended room, number of pieces and delivery city. If a revised proposal arrives, compare it with the previous revision and identify what changed. A screenshot with a single price is difficult to compare or resolve later because the assumptions may be elsewhere in the conversation.

For a shared catalogue design, record the particular seller offer and selected options. CS-Cart’s Common Products architecture allows independent vendors to offer the same catalogue identity at their own prices. The shared photograph therefore cannot substitute for the selected seller’s scope. Read our seller-offer guide alongside the proposal.

Compare the supplied piece, line by line

Ask for overall width, depth and height in a consistent unit, plus the number of seats or components where relevant. A bed proposal should identify the compatible mattress and whether the mattress is included. A dining set should list the table and chair quantities separately. Storage needs the internal arrangement, operating clearance and installation assumptions.

Separate confirmed specifications from choices still awaiting a sample. “Wood finish” does not name a wood species; “premium fabric” does not identify a fabric composition or performance test. Request the actual proposed construction, upholstery reference, finish sample and hardware description. Record substitutions as changes needing approval rather than assuming that a similar photograph is equivalent.

Read the total and exclusions together

Check quantity, unit price, line subtotal, any stated tax, discount and delivery or installation charge. Establish whether the figure is in PKR and whether it applies to this exact configuration. Ask what is excluded: site measurement, samples, stair carrying, anchoring, assembly, packaging removal or old-furniture disposal may require separate arrangements.

Do not turn an unanswered delivery question into a zero delivery charge. A location pin shows a destination; it cannot confirm that a seller serves the area or can move a bulky item through the building. Use the delivery preparation guide to describe access before requesting a final rate.

Ask when the lead-time clock starts

A useful schedule identifies its starting condition. Does the period start after a final drawing, sample approval, material confirmation or another agreed milestone? Ask whether the estimate covers manufacturing alone or also inspection, dispatch, transport and installation. Record dependencies that remain unresolved, such as building access or a requested finish sample.

Ask how progress updates and delays will be communicated and who owns the next action. Keep a written record of any revised date. An estimate from one seller, city or previous project does not establish the timetable for another. TarteebHome does not publish a universal manufacturing or delivery promise for an unverified custom piece.

Keep acceptance separate from payment

Before accepting, check the exact revision, options, destination, scope and expiry. Ask for a revised proposal if a requirement changes; adding a note to an old version can leave two conflicting descriptions. Any payment stages, cancellation conditions or warranty must be explained in the actual agreed documents and applicable policies, rather than inferred from this guide.

The TarteebHome quotation workspace records a proposal and its review state. Accepting a proposal does not itself charge a card or mark an order Paid. An actual purchase needs the appropriate native order and available approved payment route. Never send card details, account passwords or identity documents in a furniture brief.

A practical comparison sheet

  • Seller, reference, revision and expiry
  • Exact piece, dimensions, quantity and confirmed options
  • Materials and sample references, with open questions marked
  • PKR totals, stated taxes, shipping, installation and exclusions
  • Milestones, starting conditions and update contact
  • Written approval of changes before manufacture or purchase

Compare proposals against the same sheet. A higher or lower total only becomes meaningful once you understand which requirements each seller has actually included.

Sources and editorial scope

Marketplace offer structure was checked against CS-Cart’s official Common Products documentation and the installed TarteebHome workflow. The comparison method is original TarteebHome editorial guidance; it is not a seller quotation or a legal interpretation.

These are planning questions and editorial suggestions. The selected seller’s written specification, actual offer and applicable marketplace policies govern the purchase. A style reference does not verify materials, origin or availability.
