THE TARTEEBHOME GUIDES
Plan the bed and storage together, using actual dimensions rather than mattress names or a matching-suite photograph.
Place the largest footprint
Start with the bed frame’s outside dimensions, including headboard projections and footboard. Mark the footprint and walk from the door to windows and storage. Check how the room works when bedding hangs over the sides. Mattress names such as king or queen do not guarantee one dimension across suppliers. Confirm compatible mattress width, length and depth before choosing a frame.
Plan storage in use
A wardrobe needs clearance for doors, drawers and access to the rail; a sliding door still needs room for a person to stand. A storage bed needs its stated lift or drawer operating area. Measure usable internal storage as well as outside dimensions. Place frequently used belongings where you can reach them without shifting other furniture. Do not block ventilation, doors or essential fixtures.
Coordinate everyday details
Compare bedside height with the top of the actual mattress and decide where lamps, charging cables and water will go. Check sockets and cable routes before selecting a headboard. A dressing table needs chair or stool movement and usable mirror placement. Finish names and screen images do not guarantee a match across offers. If matching matters, ask for samples or agreed references.
Keep delivery practical
Measure the access route for the largest bed component, wardrobe panel and packaged piece. Ask whether the item arrives assembled or flat-packed, who assembles it and what fixings are supplied. Follow manufacturer anchoring instructions for storage furniture. Confirm removal of packaging, wall fixing and transport arrangements separately. A bedroom plan is complete only when the exact configuration can reach the room and function there.
